Prosthesis augmentation mammoplasty is currently witnessing an unusual expansion of desire and increased possibilities for altering anatomical morphologies deviated from current beauty standards.

Objectives:
Breast augmentation is one of the most sought after interventions to correct the insufficient volume of the breasts through a prosthesis that replaces the gland tissue.

Before the intervention:

  •  There is no ideal prosthesis yet. Prostheses are a foreign body and the correlation with a rare form of lymphoma is discussed.
  • The prostheses should be changed between 10 and 15 years
  • The most common complication is capsular contact
  • The size and shape of the prosthesis, the location of the scar, the subfascial or retro-muscular placement or the dual technique should be discussed in advance, meeting the patient’s wishes by talking realistically about all these aspects.
  • Emphasis should be given not to take aspirin or any other medicines that interfere with coagulation 10 days before the intervention.

Results:

Anesthesia:
Classical general anesthesia or sedation completed with local anesthesia, depending on patient profile.

Duration:

Normal surgical time is about 60 to 90 minutes
